The white teenager allegedly responsible for shooting and killing 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges against him.

Payton Gendron, 18, appeared in front of a judge. He pleaded not guilty to first degree murder.

“The state police responded. They investigated. They interviewed the subject. And they felt at the time it was appropriate to have that individual brought in for a mental health evaluation. The state police did their job to the fullest that they could at that time,” Buffalo police commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said at a press conference.

His case will head to trial.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul blames social media for the shooting.

“I want them to sit in a room, look me in the eye and tell me, have you done everything humanly possible to make sure that you are monitoring this content the second it hits your platform,” the governor said.
