Britney Spears is talking about her conservatorship in her upcoming memoir and says she agreed to the conservatorship so that she could continuing seeing her sons.

Britney says she was forced to undergo involuntary psychological assessments and tried to fight her dad, who was forcing her to be put under the conservatorship.

“After being held down on a gurney, I knew they could restrain my body any time they wanted to. And so I went along with it,” she writes. “My freedom in exchange for naps with my children — it was a trade I was willing to make,” she added.

Spears was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008 by her father. Jamie then acted as her sole conservator for most of the 13 years. The conservatorship was terminated in November 2021. Britney said her father and other members of the family should be in jail.

No member of her family have been arrested or jailed.
