Britney Spears made it to a bar for the first time in 13 years. She has not been to a bar because she was under a strict conservatorship.
“This is my first time at a bar, first time,” she said in her Instagram Story. “I feel so fancy and I feel so sophisticated.”
The singer wrote, “So glad they took my rights way for 13 years to have a cocktail. I’m so grateful yall !!!”
Spears was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008 by her father. Jamie then acted as her sole conservator for most of the 13 years. The conservatorship was terminated in November 2021. Britney says her father and other members of the family should be in jail.
This week, a judge ruled the star will not have to be deposed for a deposition about her 13-year conservatorship. Her attorney argued that being deposed would traumatize her all over again.
