Britney Spears has voluntarily entered a treatment facility a month after she was arrested near her California home.
Spears was taken into custody in the early morning hours of March 4 and booked shortly after 3 a.m. She was released less than three hours later.
According to previously obtained 911 audio, the vehicle was reportedly seen “driving in and out of lanes” and speeding. The caller also described the car as “erratic[ly] braking, swerving and driving with no tail light.”
Following the arrest, Spears’ spokesperson said, “This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.”
The statement continued, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”
It was reported back in March that Spears had already begun attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and had remained sober since the incident.
“Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” her representative added.
Spears is due back in court on May 4.
The singer has also recently reconnected with sons Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
