Britney Spears’ dad Jamie Spears is reportedly very ill and is being treated in a hospital.
“Jamie has been suffering with a bad infection that has required surgery,” a source told Page Six. “He has been hospitalized for weeks in a special infectious disease facility.”
A second insider close to the family added that the 71-year-old is “severely ill.”
Britney and her father have been estranged since the courts ended her 13-year conservatorship.

Earlier this week, sources told the Daily Mail that Jamie was staying with his other daughter, Jamie Lynn Spears after getting out of rehab to try to control his struggles with alcoholism.
“Jamie just got out of rehab, but is already drinking again, which worries Lynne and Jamie Lynn,” said the source, adding that Britney was upset.
“This obviously infuriates Britney for so many reasons,” the source blabbed. “She feels betrayed that her sister is putting up her dad and allowing him to watch her kids after what he did to her.”
