Brian Laundrie, the fiance of Gabby Petito, who went missing last year, confessed to killing her in a notebook that the feds discovered in a Florida swamp he is believed to have committed suicide in.
“I ended her life,” he wrote, Fox News reports. “I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted, but I see now all the mistakes I made. I panicked. I was in shock.”
“From the moment I decided, took away her pain, I knew I couldn’t go on without her,” Laundrie wrote.
The couple hit the road in fall 2021 but Gabby went missing on September 11. Brian then traveled home to his parents’ home in Florida without her but left on September 13.
“I can’t bear to look at our photos, to recall great times because it is why I cannot go on,” he wrote. “When I close my eyes I will think of laying on the roof of the van, falling asleep to the sight of a meteor shower at the crystal geyser. I will always love you.”
