Just when you thought the Meg Thee Stallion case couldn’t get crazier … the trial may be headed for a mistrial, Media Take Out has learned. And Tory may be a free man as soon as Monday.
Media Take Out confirmed that one of the prosecutions main witnesses, Meg’s bodyguard Justin is refusing to testify against Tory Lanez and is considered “missing.”
Meg’s former bodyguard, who was also scheduled to testify on Friday, Justin Edison, cannot be located. Meg’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told the media: “We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court.”
And this news is EXPLOSIVE.
This could be grounds for a mistrial, because prosecution – during they opening statement told jurors that Meg’s bodyguard would testify that Tory Lanez confessed to him that he shot Meg.
Since Justin is not expected to be available to testify, Tory’s legal team will undoubtedly argue that prosecutors introduced that information to the jury – without evidence – and that it was extremely prejudicial, and should be grounds for a mistrial.
It’s not clear whether the judge will allow a mistrial, given this unprecedented event.
