Brandi Glanville is finally sharing what she says caused the mysterious health issue that altered her appearance and kept her searching for answers for years.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told TMZ that ruptured breast implants were behind the condition she once described as a “facial parasite.”
After more than two years of doctor visits and uncertainty, Glanville said she learned the implants she received more than two decades ago had leaked silicone into her body.
“I went to 21 doctors and nobody could tell me what was wrong,” she said. “I was miserable and depressed and didn’t even want to leave my house.”
According to Glanville, the silicone spread through her lymphatic system and triggered a serious infection that showed up in her face.
She admitted she ignored advice to replace implants every 10 years because she felt fine at the time. “They looked good and felt good, so I thought, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” she said.
A sonogram eventually revealed the rupture and helped her move forward with treatment. Glanville says the experience changed her outlook and serves as a cautionary tale. “Cosmetic surgery can be amazing,” she said, “but you have to stay on top of it and listen to your doctors.”
She added that she hopes speaking out helps others avoid going through the same ordeal.
