Boxing Star Gervonta Davis Wanted by Police After Explosive Allegations

Boxing champion Gervonta Davis is now the subject of an active arrest warrant following a Florida investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident that authorities say occurred last October.

Miami Gardens Police announced Wednesday that Davis is wanted on multiple charges, including false imprisonment, battery and attempted kidnapping.

Executive officer Emmanuel Jeanty said during a press briefing that local police are working with federal authorities to locate the fighter. “We are actively working with the United States Marshal’s fugitive task force to apprehend Mr. Davis,” Jeanty said, adding that the department is “committed to holding offenders accountable and protecting victims.”

The case stems from an Oct. 27 incident at a Miami Gardens gentlemen’s club where the alleged victim, Davis’ former girlfriend Courtney Rossel, was employed as a VIP cocktail server. In a civil lawsuit filed days later, Rossel claimed Davis confronted her in a private area of the club and forcibly attempted to remove her from the premises.

Police say surveillance footage reviewed during the investigation supports key aspects of her account. “The investigation determined that Mr. Davis used force to restrain the victim against her will,” Jeanty said.

The lawsuit was filed shortly before Davis was scheduled to fight Jake Paul, a match that was later canceled. Davis has not publicly addressed the allegations, and it remains unclear whether the warrant could impact his existing probation from a prior case.
