Boxing Bad Boy Gervonta Davis Released After Miami Arrest

Gervonta “Tank” Davis was released from Miami-Dade County Jail on Thursday after spending the night in custody following his arrest by U.S. marshals.

The 31-year-old boxing champion bonded out of the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after bail was set at $16,000, court records show. Authorities said Davis was taken into custody “without incident” in connection with an alleged October 2025 encounter at Tootsies Cabaret in Miami Gardens.

Police filings state that a woman accused Davis of grabbing her by the hair and throat and pulling her outside the club, leaving her “battered and bruised.” Davis now faces charges of attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.

In bond court, his attorney pushed back forcefully against the accusations and suggested the claims were financially motivated. “We have emails, text messages, and photographs of everything,” the lawyer told the judge.

The alleged victim’s legal team rejected that narrative, saying their client contacted authorities before any civil action was filed and did not ask for money.

The arrest marks another legal setback for the undefeated fighter, who has now been arrested multiple times on battery-related charges.

Davis has not returned to the ring since his controversial majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr. in March. A planned rematch later this year was scrapped amid his ongoing legal troubles, and he was recently labeled a “champion in recess” by the WBA.

Neither Davis nor his representatives have issued a public statement since his release. The case remains under review as prosecutors determine next steps.
