Donald Trump was booked and arraigned in a Manhattan criminal court but the former president did not have to pose for a mugshot and Boosie Badazz wants to know why.
“I WONDER WHAT @realDonaldTrump ATTORNEYS FILED SO HE DIDNT HAVE TO GET HIS MUGSHOT TAKEN?” the rapper tweeted. “#smartmove BUT THIS HAS TO GO FOR ALL CELEBRITIES RIGHT? MUGSHOTS CAN DAMAGE SOMEONES BRAND.”
After Trump was taken into custody on Tuesday, he was fingerprinted as part of the booking process, but his mug shot was not taken. A reason was not given as to why Trump did not have to have the mugshot. Some folks on Twitter decided to use AI to falsify mugshots of the president, which went viral online.
Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. District Attorney Alvin Bragg alleges Trump and his team paid hush money ahead of the 2016 election to quiet women who said they’d had affairs with him. Trump has denied the affairs and any wrongdoing.
He is the first former president to be criminally indicted.
