Boosie Defends Principal After School Visit Backlash

Boosie Badazz is weighing in after a Louisiana high school principal was placed on administrative leave following the rapper’s unexpected appearance on campus.

James Rollins, principal of Northside High School in Lafayette, was removed from his role after Boosie visited students on April 29 alongside State Rep. Tehmi Chassion. The visit sparked excitement among students but was later cited as a breach of Lafayette Parish School System policy.

Days later, Boosie publicly supported Rollins and called on the school board to revisit its decision. “We would like to respectfully ask the Lafayette Parish School Board to reconsider the principal’s position,” he wrote.

He added, “From what we experienced, he did an outstanding job with security and made sure everything was handled the right way.”

Boosie also spoke about Rollins’ connection with students, saying, “He came across as someone who genuinely cares about his students and made sure they had the opportunity to benefit from what we brought.”

During the visit, the rapper delivered remarks encouraging students to “do right by people,” according to a video shared by a local outlet.

“I feel bad about it, man, because it was a genuine situation,” Boosie said. “All I did is said a few words to uplift the kids about life.”

He said Rollins invited him because many students “look up” to him and urged officials to reconsider, adding, “I would tell the school board to give this man another chance, man.”
