Boosie Badazz says he plans to sue political operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman for $10 million after paying their lobbying firm $600,000 to pursue a presidential pardon that never arrived.
“I’m suing for 10 million n federal court now,” the rapper wrote on X, adding, “#staytuned.” He has not yet publicly confirmed that the federal lawsuit has been filed.
Boosie, whose legal name is Torence Hatch, hired JM Burkman & Associates in September 2025 to seek clemency from President Donald Trump in connection with his federal gun conviction. He is already pursuing arbitration to recover $300,000, which he says represents a refund promised if a pardon was not secured by Jan. 31, 2026.

“They were real aggressive, they were talking like they had Trump on speed dial,” Boosie told NOTUS about the firm’s initial pitch.
The firm disputes Boosie’s account, saying “no provision to return half the fee was ever actually agreed to.” It also said it conducted an extensive advocacy campaign and still believes the rapper deserves clemency.
Akademiks defended the payment as lobbying rather than an attempted bribe.
“Boosie didn’t pay for a bribe he paid a lobbyist group to try to get him a pardon,” he wrote, adding that Boosie could have a case for the $300,000 refund.
A pardon has not been granted.
