Boosie Badazz Defends Gucci Mane Over Rumored 1017 Label Curse

Lyndon Abioye |

Boosie Badazz spoke out in defence of Gucci Mane after rumors circulated online about his 1017 record label being cursed.

In June, Enchanting, the seventh artist signed with him, died after an overdose which left her on life support.

“That n-gga giving muthaf-ckas a chance. What a n-gga go do on they own, that’s what they do on they own. We grown. Don’t put it on that man like that’s his fault,” Boosie tells Vlad.

“Come on, man. That n-gga giving you a chance. You probably wouldn’t know [the artist] to be a celebrity if he didn’t give him a chance.”

Several other artists have also suffered tragedies.

Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are both currently serving five-year sentences. Shiesty was hit with a firearm conspiracy case, while Foogiano violated his bond conditions stemming from a firearm possession charge.

Hoodrich Pablo Juan is also serving five years in prison but his charges stem from a RICO case, while recently released rapper Ralo served six years in prison on drug conspiracy charges. In 2021, Yung Mal was arrested and charged with murder in connection to a gas station shooting that left one man dead.  Hotboy Wes was hit with a robbery charge back in 2022, and Mc Critter was arrested the following year on first-degree murder charges. Big Scarr passed away from a drug overdose in December 2022 … he was 22.
