Bobby Shmurda was once imprisoned for committing serious crimes, but he says he’s truly turned his life around.
“Me explaining how I shot 13 people, sold drugs since 12, 6 years of prison and so much more,” he captioned a post on Instagram. “I’ve managed to turn my life around and become the entrepreneur that I am today!!!!!!”
He added: “I’m going to be telling one of the best stories in #History this year #ThankGod yo daddy’s daddy ain’t even come like this #Shmurda.”
People praised the rapper in the comments.
Shmurda was originally signed to Epic. When he was released from prison, he fought to be released from the label.
“I got a 70 year old lady running my label and I love her dearly but doesn’t want to let me go at alllllllll,” Shmurda wrote at the time. “No matter what I do I’ve been sign to them since I was 19. I did six years in jail trying to get off this label before I came home, you name one person in the industry a lable [sic] keeps sign in jail for six years???? Yeah IK IK I made them more millions than they ever gave me!!! Just let me gooo.”
He has since been released and is now proudly an independent artist.
