A very disturbing incident is going viral across social media, Media Take Out has learned.
An autistic Black teenager appears to have been attacked on the subway, by a group of Hispanic teens. And many online are suggesting that there could be a racist motive behind the attack.
This incident happened at 181st Street train station on the A Train in Harlem.
The teenage Latino kids kept hurling “N word Alert” at the autistic teen, although it’s not clear whether they intended to use the word in a racist manner.
One female is seen on video grabbing and dragging the victim by his hoodie. Later, a group of Latino teens, both male and female, are seen assaulting the young man.
Media Take Out forwarded this video to the NY police department, and asked for comment.
New York City Transit President Richard Davey responded to the media attention, and called the video ‘heartbreaking and disturbing in a statement, saying,
“Our hearts are with the young man seemingly being senselessly victimized. No one should be subject to this sort of hateful harassment while they are riding with New York City Transit, and the MTA is fully cooperating with the NYPD in its investigation into the incident.”
