Sports fans nationwide are worried about Buffalo Bills star Damar Hamlin after he suffered cardiac arrest in last night’s game against the Bengals. The 24 year old was rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition after collapsing on the field.
The game was postponed.
“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals,” the Bills announced via a statement. “His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”
CPR was administered to the 24-year-old athlete after he collapsed following his tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin was given oxygen after he was placed in the ambulance and taken off the field.
“Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available,” the league said in a statement. “The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”
