Faith Evans has lost a legal battle with Wayne Barrow, the former manager of her late husband, The Notorious B.I.G., over who can collect money connected to the rap legend’s estate.
A Delaware judge ruled in Barrow’s favor on August 7, handing him a victory in a dispute over the Notorious B.I.G. LLC and a trust established by Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace.
Voletta and Evans created the company in 2007 to manage Biggie’s intellectual property. Weeks before Voletta died in 2025, she removed Evans and her grandson C.J. Wallace as successor trustees and named Barrow sole trustee.
After Barrow attempted to exercise the trust’s rights in the company, he claimed Evans refused to provide distributions he believed were owed.
The judge granted Barrow summary judgment and rejected Evans’ counterclaim.
“Wayne is feeling vindicated,” his attorney told Rolling Stone. “We obtained a total victory in a dispute that never should have happened.”
His lawyer also said Barrow is “looking forward to fulfilling Mama Wallace’s wishes.”
Barrow first sued Evans in July 2025.
Meanwhile, C.J., 29, is pursuing a separate case in Pennsylvania claiming Voletta was “improperly influenced” by Barrow before naming him trustee.
Biggie and Evans married in 1994 and were estranged when the rapper was killed in March 1997 at age 24.
