Eugene “Big U” Henley is facing seven new federal charges over allegations that he tried to have a prospective government witness killed before his upcoming trial.
The longtime Los Angeles music executive has been held in federal custody since March 2025. His original 43-count indictment included accusations of racketeering, murder, extortion, robbery, sex trafficking and wire fraud.
Newly filed court documents allege Big U continued issuing orders from behind bars through intermediaries and fellow inmates. Prosecutors claim those instructions included attempts to intimidate or eliminate people expected to testify against him.
The latest charges include two counts of solicitation to commit a crime of violence and two counts of witness tampering. Big U was also charged with conspiracy to transport an individual for prostitution and two additional counts of wire fraud.

Federal authorities have accused Big U of operating a “mafia-like” criminal enterprise while using his influence in the music industry and his alleged leadership role within the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips.
Big U’s defense team has denied the government’s claims. His attorneys are also fighting to exclude wiretap recordings prosecutors plan to use during the trial.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Henley is presumed innocent and is expected to face trial in February with six codefendants and could receive decades in prison if convicted.
