Big Sean has addressed rumors that he fired shots at Lil Yachty on his new album track “Wire Me.”

On the song, the Detroit artist raps,  “I mean, I might have to even throw ’em a lil’ boat — pff / I’m seein’ n-ggas gettin’ drowned out ’cause they can’t switch up the flow / Just give ’em a year or two, and they gettin’ exposed.”

Fans immediately thought the bars were aimed at Yachty but speaking to Complex, he explains is lyrics.

“I wasn’t talking about [Lil Yachty],” he said. “Yachty is on the album as well. On ‘Yes’ he’s doing adlibs with me. No, I’m not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. [If I was referencing him] that would have been a whole other entendre.”

Big Sean says that Yachty has a verse for “Yes” which he may release later.

Big Sean’s sixth studio album ‘Better Me Than You’ was released on Aug. 30 and is his first album release since 2020.
