Yesterday R&B singer Kelis went viral, after she claimed that Beyonce “stole” one of her old tracks. As Media Take Out uncovered, Kelis does not own the rights to the track – and Beyonce and her team got permission from the owners of the song to sample it.
But now a new claim of “theft” is being launched against Beyonce from Kelis fans. Media Take Out confirmed that fans of the Milshake artist are claiming that Beyonce “stole” the imagery that she used to launch her Renaissance album from Kelis.
And Kelis is co-signing these allegations, by “liking” the tweets pushing this theory.
Well Media Take Out decided to do a deep dive into Kelis fans claim – and we totally expected to debunk them as another anti-Beyonce conspiracy theory. But we were shocked at our findings.
By now we’ve all see the album artwork for Beyonce’s new album Renaissance. This is the cover:
Kelis’ fans are claiming that Beyonce “copied” the imagery from Kelis.
When we initially heard this claim, it sounded to us like Kelis and her fans just grasping at straws, and trying to throw shade at Beyonce in hopes of giving Kelis some temporary clout.
But then Media Take Out did some digging, and we were stunned at the similarities between Beyonce’s Renaissance artwork and the artwork that Kelis had created for her Wanderland album.
We located below a picture taken from the CD booklet of Kelis’ album. And it shows Kelis riding a horse, in virtually the exact same pose as Beyonce.

It’s so similar that, in Media Take Out’s opinion, there is NO CHANCE this is just a coincidence. It’s almost like Beyonce was not only stealing from Kelis, but trolling her former rival as well.
We reached out to Beyonce’s camp for comment, but so far – we haven’t got a response.

Wanderland is the second studio album by American singer Kelis. It was released on October 17, 2001, by Virgin Records. The album’s only single, “Young, Fresh n’ New”, peaked at number 32 on the UK Singles Chart. As of October 2004, Wanderland had sold 17,000 copies in the United Kingdom.
Here’s Kelis explaining how she claims Beyonce has been stealing from her for years:
