The CFO for Bed Bath & Beyond died after he fell from a high-rise building in New York City.

Just two days before, the home retail giant announced it would be closing 150 stores to save money.

The man was identified as the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, Gustavo Arnal.

“I am proud to have been his colleague, and he will be truly missed by all of us at Bed Bath & Beyond and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him,” Harriet Edelman, independent chair of Bed Bath & Beyond’s board of directors, said in a statement. “Our focus is on supporting his family and his team and our thoughts are with them during this sad and difficult time.”

He was found dead on Leonard Street and West Broadway in Manhattan on Friday. Arnal was reportedly named in a federal class-action lawsuit on allegations of federal securities fraud, insider trading, and breach of fiduciary duty.
