Bad Bunny has spoken out in support of Kamala Harris for president after a comedian who spoke at Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden last week told an offensive joke about Puerto Rico.
Tony Hinchcliffe upset the Latino community when he said, “There’s a lot going on, like, I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. Yeah. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

Following the instant backlash, instead of apologizing, Hinchliffe said it was “a joke taken out of context to make it seem racist.”
Bad Bunny shared a clip of VP Harris speaking about Trump’s handling of the island after it was hit by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Vice President Harris: I announced my plan for Puerto Rico, and I’m proud to have the support of folks like Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez. People are exhausted with Trump and that nonsense we saw last night at Madison Square Garden pic.twitter.com/XXlBnxPKdy

“I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he did not do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and a competent leader,” she says in the clip. “He abandoned the island, tried to block aid after back-to-back devastating hurricanes, and offered nothing more than paper towels and insults.”
HE shared several other slips.
According to Bad Bunny’s camp, the posts were “not an endorsement,” but confirmed that he is “supporting” Harris.
“Benito’s political focus has always been on Puerto Rico,” the rep added.
