Young Thug’s attorney filed an emergency motion on Friday to have the rapper released from jail.
Attorney Brian Steel told the court Thugger is being subjected to “dungeon-like” jail conditions that violate Thug’s constitutional rights. He says the rapper is in a room without any windows, and that he cannot sleep because the lights in his cell are kept on 24-hours. The food he is being forced to eat is poor and that he has no contact with anyone.
Thug was arrested on Monday for allegedly violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute. He was then hit with additional felony counts.
The new charges include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, and three charges of unlawful participation in criminal gang activity while employed by/associated with a criminal street gang.
