Atlanta Murder Rate Down 35% Since Young Thug & The YSL & YFN Crews Got Locked Up!

The city of Atlanta is safer now than it was in many years … thanks to the work of the current District Attorney Fani T. Willis.

Fani Willis

Media Take Out spoke with multiple people in Fani’s office who tell us that the murder rate in the city has dropped as much as 35%, since Young Thug and members of the YSL gang, and rival gang YFN were arrested.

And that’s a pretty remarkable statistic.

Crime has been on the rise in Atlanta – with 2022 being on eo the deadliest year sin recent history.

Atlanta Police Department data showed that in 2022, there were more homicides in northwest Atlanta, southwest Atlanta and areas near Downtown and Midtown compared to the previous year. Homicides decreased in neighborhoods in Buckhead, East Atlanta and southwest Atlanta.

Citywide, crime remained relatively flat overall. Atlanta Police Department data showed 22,334 “Group A” incidents (homicide, rape, aggravated assault and six different kinds of property crimes) in 2022 compared to 22,434 in 2021.

But something strange happened recently. Homicides took a sharp decline when Fani began locking up Young Thing and those accused of being involved in his criminal enterprise.

Since Young This was arrested in May of 2022, Homicides have dropped dramatically.

Homicides in the City of Atlanta are now down by 35 percent compared to mid-June of 2022, according to Atlanta Police Department data.

Atlanta Police have investigated 46 homicides so far this year, data show. Last year, there were 68 homicides reported by mid-June.
