Ashanti and Nelly are back together and happier than ever and back in April, she confirmed that they were not only expecting a child together, but that they are also engaged.
In a recent interview, Ashanti shared that the rapper proposed to her in bed.
“It was just such a beautiful, intimate moment. We were not dressy,” she told ET.
At the time, she says she was wearing one of Nelly’s t-shirts and a pair of his boxers shorts and that she had “absolutely no idea” what he was about to do.
“I felt like it was gonna come soon. I didn’t know when. The way that it happened was so funny; I’m sitting in bed, watching TV with boxers on, you know what I mean? It’s literally not sexy,” she said.
After the proposal, the singer grabbed her phone and Facetimes with her close friends and family members.
“I cried. I gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever,” she added. “I FaceTimed everyone I know…I was overjoyed and shocked and surprised and happy, kind of like all in one.”
