Former Dancing With The Star pro Artem Chigvintsev has been granted a restraining order against his wrestler wife, Nikki Garcia, after alleging that she physically abuses him.
This comes more than a month after Artem was arrested for felony domestic violence.
On August 29, he was charged with corporal injury to a spouse, and he was given a $25,000 bail. In her filing, Nikki states the same date as their separation date.
Artem’s attorney, Ilona Antonyan denies Garcia’s allegations that he tackled her and claims that he “was not the primary aggressor.”
“Mr. Chigvintsev contacted law enforcement on 8/29/24 seeking protection from his wife’s persistent aggression,” Antonyan said. “That day, someone was going to be arrested, and it wouldn’t have been Mr. Chigvintsev if Ms. Garcia Colace had told the truth.
Artem says he suffered physical abuse at his estranged wife’s hands and that she even threw their son Matteo’s shoes at him. Artem allegedly tried to remove their young son from the scene but continued to attack him.
His attorney says that his career has been affected by the false allegations. Nikki Garcia already has a restraining order against Artem. They are both seeking permanent orders.
