Newly released police footage is shedding more light on the chaotic moments after Tiger Woods rolled his SUV in Florida last week.

In the bodycam video below, the golf star is seen standing near the scene of the March 27 crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, while speaking on his cellphone. A deputy approaches Woods and asks him to remain nearby. As Woods walks back toward the officer, he appears to explain why he had briefly moved away from the area.

“Yeah, I was just talking to the president,” Woods says in the video. “Trying to get away from everybody.”

The footage does not identify which president Woods meant, although he has maintained a longtime friendship with President Donald Trump.

The crash happened after Woods clipped the back of a truck and overturned his Range Rover on a two-lane road.

Authorities later arrested Woods for DUI. According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies found two hydrocodone pills in his pocket and observed what they described as signs of impairment, including “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and “extremely dilated” pupils.

Trump briefly addressed the crash while speaking in Miami hours later.

“I feel so badly,” Trump said. “Very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person.”

Woods has since announced that he is stepping away from golf to seek treatment.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods said. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
