Arraignment Postponed for Stefon Diggs in Shocking Assault Case

Lyndon Abioye |

New England Patriots star wide receiver Stefon Diggs will have his arraignment delayed until Feb. 13, according to newly filed court documents.

The hearing, tied to felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges, was originally scheduled for Jan. 23.

The postponement means Diggs remains eligible to play as the postseason continues, including a potential AFC Championship appearance later this month. The charges stem from an alleged incident on Dec. 2, 2025, at a Dedham residence involving a private chef and a dispute over pay.

Court documents allege Diggs struck the woman and attempted to choke her using his arm, claiming she struggled to breathe and feared she might black out. The report states she was later thrown onto a bed. Police noted redness on her chest, though no photographs were taken. Text messages included in the filing show a heated exchange over payment, with the chef requesting to be paid “for the season.”

Diggs has denied the allegations and declined to discuss the case publicly, calling it an open matter. His attorney said, “Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations,” describing them as unsubstantiated and tied to a financial disagreement.
