Ariana Grande Stalker Jailed After Chaotic ‘Wicked’ Carpet Breach in Singapore

A viral moment at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good has now resulted in jail time for the fan who grabbed Ariana Grande on the yellow carpet.

Johnson Wen, 26, was sentenced to nine days in prison after admitting in court that he caused a public disturbance during the event at Universal Studios Singapore.

The incident, which spread quickly across social media, showed Wen hopping a barricade, rushing toward Grande, and throwing an arm around her before security intervened.

Cynthia Erivo immediately stepped between them, shouting as guards pulled the man away. According to details revealed during Monday’s court session, Wen had already been escorted out once and attempted to breach the barricades a second time before he was pinned down.

Even after the arrest, Wen posted his own video of the encounter, thanking Grande for “letting me jump on the yellow carpet,” and later wrote on Instagram that he was “free after being arrested.”

Prosecutors pushed for a weeklong sentence, calling him a “serial intruder” who courts online attention.

Grande hasn’t publicly commented, but Erivo appeared to reference the ordeal during a SAG screening, saying the cast had “come through some stuff” in the past week.
