Ariana Grande is leaving the spotlight after her tour and dropping out of a major London stage production as public scrutiny surrounding her appearance continues.

The 33-year-old singer will begin her break after the Eternal Sunshine tour closes in London on September 1.

“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” her representative told PEOPLE.

Grande also will not star with Jonathan Bailey in next summer’s West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at the Barbican Centre.

The move comes as Grande faces another wave of online discussion about her body and overall health. Her rep says the singer wants to finish the tour “healthily and happily” before stepping away from public-facing commitments. “This tour has been a beautiful experience for her,” the rep says. “She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

A source close to Grande says the production requires considerable physical strength and stamina.

“She performs healthily and successfully at a very high level night after night,” the source says.
