Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have broken up after nearly three years together, with a source saying the Wicked costars quietly ended their relationship “several months” ago.
The split, described as “amicable,” comes after a romance that began on one of Hollywood’s biggest musical sets and followed both stars through intense public attention. Grande, 32, plays Glinda in Wicked, while Slater, 34, plays Boq. The two were first linked in July 2023 after meeting during production.
A source said the pair “gave lots of time and careful consideration” before deciding to end the relationship. The insider added that they are “still friends and very supportive of one another.”
Grande and Slater went Instagram official in November 2024, more than a year after their relationship first became public. and the couple later appeared at promotional events for Wicked and Wicked: For Good, though the source says their romantic relationship had already ended months before the news became public.
Grande is now focused on music. A source said she is “doing great” as she moves into her Eternal Sunshine Tour and prepares to release her next album, Petal, on July 31.
