Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling on controversial influencer Clavicular to use his massive platform to talk about displaced Palestinians.
“We should be focusing on Palestinians and the fact that many of them have been displaced,” the New York congresswoman told TMZ in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
“I hope maybe he uses his platform to give also some light to that issue as well,” she added.
Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, triggered a firestorm during his visit to Tel Aviv. Some pro-Israel influencers praised the publicity he brought to the country, while others questioned why anyone would welcome a creator with a history of provocative behavior.
Earlier this year, Clavicular appeared in a group of influencers singing along to Ye’s song “Heil Hitler” at a Miami nightclub and has also faced backlash over content accused of objectifying women and promoting antisemitic views.
His livestream visit even landed one Israeli woman in serious trouble. Shira Braun reportedly lost her position in the army spokesman’s unit and received a suspended military jail sentence after appearing on Clavicular’s Kick stream as his girlfriend.
Kick is known for allowing material that other platforms often restrict.
