Anderson .Paak is keeping fans guessing about his relationship with Mariah Carey.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, the Grammy winner laughed off questions about ongoing romance rumors involving the pop icon after the pair spent months fueling speculation with public outings following a recent music collaboration.
Sharpe brought up the internet frenzy surrounding the duo’s chemistry in a music video, telling Anderson .Paak, “You broke the internet because you were holding Mariah’s hand and you kissed her on the cheek.”
After reacting with surprise over the attention, the singer kept his answer light while praising Carey and their time working together.
“That was fun, man,” he said. “Mariah’s about the music and that was that.”
Anderson .Paak also joked that spending time around Carey introduced him to “the finer things in life.”
“Now I know about caviar. Caymus wine. Good shows like Abbott Elementary,” he said, adding, “I’m a dog lover now.”
Sharpe later asked whether Carey’s ex-husband Nick Cannon had contacted him about the rumors. Anderson .Paak said Cannon reached out for concert tickets instead.
“Nick hit me up, but he wanted tickets to a show,” he shared.
The musician also sidestepped questions about rumored ties to Jeannie Mai, explaining they had only met to discuss his upcoming film project, K-Pops.
