Amber Heard says she still loves Johnny Depp even though she accused him of being a violent drunk.
“Absolutely. I love him. I loved him with all my heart,” she said on NBC News. “I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work and I couldn’t. I have no bad feelings or ill will toward him at all.”
Amber also talked about why she thinks she has received so much hate since the beginning of the trial.
“I’m not a good victim, I get it,” she said. “I’m not a likeable victim, I’m not a perfect victim. But when I testified I asked the jury to see me and hear his own words which is a promise to do this.”
Depp sued her for $50 million for defamation over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed where she wrote about her experience with domestic violence. She countersued him for $100 million. Depp was awarded more than $10 million and she was awarded $2 million.
