“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor Alfonso Ribeiro responded to a fan who suggested that he reach out to Tyler Perry to help revive his career.

Alphonso responded to the fan and said he did not want Perry’s help.

“I don’t need or ever want that man to do anything for me,” he wrote.

He has worked with Perry in the past. Ribeiro directed 12 episodes of the Meet the Browns in 2009 and 2010.

Ribeiro recently spoke out about his career. He struggled to get acting roles when Fresh Prince eventually came to an end. The show ran on NBC for six seasons from 1990 to 1996.

“Playing Carlton on Fresh Prince became a sacrifice. I used to always say doing Carlton was the greatest and worst thing that ever happened to me. It couldn’tof the greatest roles tha” I ever was fortunate enough to play, but it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else. The sacrifice was not having an acting career anymore,” he told Closer Weekly.
