The internet is still reeling after Alexis Ohanian was seen heading into President Donald Trump’s White House UFC event.
The Reddit co-founder, who is married to Serena Williams, appeared on the attendee list for the weekend event, with CNN also spotting him on his way toward the South Lawn.
In the past, Ohanian has reportedly criticized the Trump administration’s deportation policies in the past.
The backlash picked up after UFC fighter Josh Hokit made derogatory remarks about former First Lady Michelle Obama during the event, calling her “a man”. Some social media users said Ohanian should explain why he was there, especially because Serena and Venus Williams have long endured racism and racist attacks during their careers.

Serena’s has also faced some backlash over her own connection to Trump. After reports that she had been in frequent communication with him during his first term, the tennis great pushed back on the idea that speaking with a president was unusual for her.
“I talk to a lot of presidents,” Serena said at the time. “I spoke to Barack, I spoke to the Clintons. I spoke to every president since I’ve been alive, including Ronald Reagan, I’ll have you know.”
Trump later posted a video in April showing him volleying with Serena.
