In an interview with DJ Vlad, Akon revealed that he believes Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life crew is good people…but their lyrics suggest otherwise.
“A lot of them, this not who they really are. These are kids. Most of it is being done to—you could say, impress their peers.” He went on to say that he “knows most of them,” Akon told Vlad saying that they are “the most humble, good-hearted, real good people. But when you listen to the music, you would think they was serial killers.”
Several members of YSL including Thugger and Gunna are behind bars, facing RICO charges. Both men deny the crimes against them and claim that YSL is not a gang…that it’s just a record label.
This week, young member of Young Thug’s YSL crew received his sentence after he was convicted of felony murder charges. Jayden Myrick, 22, was found guilty on all the charges he faced including felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and criminal gang activity.
