Adrian Peterson will not face charges for a domestic violence incident from February.
The running back has agreed to complete 20 sessions of domestic violence and alcohol counseling within the next 6 months to avoid facing a misdemeanor charge.
Peterson and his wife got into an argument after their plane left the gate at Los Angeles International Airport on Super Bowl Sunday. The plane had to return to the airport so he could be removed from the aircraft, but denies putting his paws on her.
“On Sunday, Adrian and I had a verbal argument. Unfortunately it was on an airplane. At no point did Adrian hit or strike me. This is a private matter between my husband and myself. We ask that everyone respect our privacy so we can focus on what matters most: our children,” his wife Ashley wrote at the time.
Peterson played in three games for the Titans and one for the Seahawks last season. He is now a free agent. He has previously played for the Lions, Commanders, Saints, Cardinals and Vikings.
