Adidas Says It Will Continue To Sell Yeezy Designs Without Kanye West

Adidas says they will sell Kanye West’s designs without the Yeezy name despite West saying he owned all rights to the designs.

“Adidas is the sole owner of all design rights registered to existing product,” said Adidas Chief Financial Officer Harm Ohlmeyer, according to Business Insider. “We intend to make use of these rights as early as 2023.”

Adidas dropped Kanye, causing him to lose his billionaire status. Ye made several controversial remarks about the Jewish community.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the statement reads. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” the company said in a statement. “After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

Ye has been trying to find a new home for his sneakers.
