Anne Heche remains in a coma after a devastating car crash on Friday. Now the word is that she could face charges from the Los Angeles police for allegedly driving under the influence.
Heche’s blue Mini Cooper on Friday crashed into a home belonging to Jennifer Durand. Her tenant, Lynne Mishele, was residing in the property at the time. The home caught fire after the crash and Heche suffered burns from the incident.
“Lynne called me and asked me if I was sitting down, and then told me a car had crashed through the home and it was on fire, “Durand told People. “She could barely speak so it took a few minutes to really understand what was happening.”
Fortunately, Heche, who once dated Ellen Degeneres, did not die in the crash.
“At this time Anne is in critical condition,” a rep said in a statement. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”
