The family of actress Anne Heche released a statement claiming she won’t survive the car crash that led to her being in a coma.
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive,” the statement read. “It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.”
Heche’s blue Mini Cooper crashed into a home belonging to Jennifer Durand on Friday. Her tenant, Lynne Mishele, was residing in the property at the time. The home caught fire after the crash and Heche suffered burns from the incident.
There is speculation she was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
“At this time Anne is in critical condition,” a rep said in a statement days ago. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”
