Aaron Carter confirmed that he has checked himself into rehab after losing custody of his 9-month-old son, Prince.
Aaron wants to clean himself up to get his son back.
“It’s an abstinence program and I work with an individual counselor,” he told the Sun via video conference. “I do group therapy, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, I got myself certified in CPR, just a lot of different things.”
The singer said the court ordered that his fiancee, Melanie Martin’s mother, have custody of the couple’s son because of their alleged domestic violence situation and drug abuse.
Aaron says the only drug he’s using is weed.
“The main reason why I enrolled into Lionrock Recovery outpatient is to help with the weed,” he said. “I don’t want to smoke weed anymore. I don’t really need to.” He later added that he takes Xanax, but said that is part of his “regimented medication” plan, which helps keep him “clean from huffing dust.”
