A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty to charges that he shot his former friend A$AP Relli on a Los Angeles two years ago.

The rapper wants to go to trial by September.

In November 2022, Rocky was charged in connection with a 2021 shooting in Hollywood and is facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm with allegations of personally using a firearm.

“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a news release. “My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”

At the time, an LAPD press release alleged an argument took place between Rocky and the victim near Vista Del Mar and Selma Avenue.

“The argument escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim,” the statement reads. “The victim sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought his medical treatment. Following the shooting, the suspect and two additional males fled the area on foot. Detectives worked diligently to investigate and corroborate the reporting information, which helped identify the suspect(s) involved.”
