It’s been a minute since 50 Cent dropped any new music, but now the G-Unit boss is finally spilling the tea on why he’s slowed down on the rap game. According to the mogul, it’s not that he’s lost his touch—it’s just that he refuses to “tap into the stupid” that the current music scene seems to demand.

In an exclusive chat at Invest Fest, 50 Cent got candid, explaining, “If you listen to the music that’s out right now, I have to tap into my stupid. I have to tap into the stupid side of me to write the right thing when it comes time to write the music.”

That’s a major dig at the current state of hip-hop, but it seems like 50’s over it.

He continued, “That’s why I haven’t created as much content as I used to. I’ve shifted my focus towards film production and developing major projects because I can have a much bigger impact there.”

And he’s not just talking the talk. 50 Cent is making moves outside of music, recently investing in a 985,000-square-foot studio in Shreveport, which is now the second-largest Black-owned studio in the country, right behind Tyler Perry’s empire in Atlanta.

But that’s not all—50 Cent is also teaming up with Netflix for a bombshell documentary on none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs. While the release date is still under wraps, you know it’s going to be one for the books!
