50 Cent says Sean “Diddy” Combs’ latest lawsuit involving the Netflix docuseries he executive produced is not something he is losing sleep over, especially since his own name is nowhere in the filing.
“Well, I wasn’t named in the lawsuit,” 50 Cent, 51, told USA TODAY. “To be honest, I think [the lawsuit] is postural.”
Diddy filed the countersuit against music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who sued him for $30 million in 2024, alleging sexual assault and harassment, earlier this month.
In the countersuit, Diddy claims Jones stole private footage intended for his own documentary and sold it to Netflix, where it appeared in the four-part series Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The filing also accuses Jones of making defamatory statements in the documentary.
Netflix previously said it had the “necessary rights” to the footage featured in the project.
50 Cent, who executive produced the series, said the legal dispute has not changed how he feels about the finished product.
“I felt really good about it,” he said, praising director Alexandria Stapleton. “She made something that didn’t feel forced in any way. And people really appreciated it.”
“The Reckoning” went on to earn three Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.
Diddy is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He is appealing the conviction.
