Desiigner’s single “Panda” was one of the hottest tracks of 2015 and 50 Cent revealed in a recent interview that he considered signing the rapper before he signed with G.O.O.D Music.

“The n-gga came to me, what’s the n-gga’s name? He sounded like Future. Panda, panda, panda. I met with him before he did the deal with Kanye and them,” said 50.

The mogul said the rising rapper had no other music to present to him, so he declined to move things further.

Fif continued, “I had him at the office. I was like, ‘Yo, let me hear the other records you got.’ And he’s like… ‘That’s it.’ And the sh-t was so hot that he had, I was struggling. But I was like, ‘Nah, I can’t give that n-gga that money. Let them give him whatever the f-ck they gonna give him.’”

Desiigner is best known for his 2015 debut single “Panda”, which topped the Billboard Hot 100. After the song became a smash, he signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings until departing both labels in 2019. In July 2016, he released the follow-up single “Tiimmy Turner”, which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Desiigner has released more music but has been unable to attain the same level of success.
