21 Savage has filed a motion to prevent prosecutors from using evidence collected during his 2019 ICE arrest against him in court.

The rapper claims police made an “unlawful” arrest. His lawyers argue that the cops had no right to stop him as he was not doing anything wrong, adding that “there was no illegality for the weapon to be in the car.”

21 is still facing deportation after being arrested for being in the country on an expired visa. The rapper was born in London.

His attorneys have claimed the rapper was being targeted from the beginning.

“Last night’s manufactured charges are yet another example of how our justice system, from ICE down to the local level, unjustly targets young Black men who seek to exercise their rights,” Savage’s lawyer Charles Kuck said at the time. “There is no legitimate basis for these charges nor for ICE’s continued antics, and we will fight until Mr. Joseph is justly vindicated.”
