Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the only individual charged for the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, will stand trial in Las Vegas starting June 3, 2024, a Nevada judge ruled.
He will return to court for a status check on Jan. 3, 2024.
Last week, Keefe D showed up to court for his arraignment in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur and pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the murder charge. He is being represented by special public defenders Robert Arroyo and Charles Cano and was charged with the Category A felony of “murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.”

If convicted, the state of Nevada will not seek the death penalty.
Keefe D’s interview put him on the police’s radar.
“It wasn’t until 2018 that this case was reinvigorated, as additional information came to light related to this homicide, specifically Duane Davis’s own admissions to his involvement in this homicide investigation that he provided to numerous different media outlets,” Lieutenant Jason Johansson said at a press conference on September 29.
