Bolt is a great sprinter. There are other sports too. Can he swim faster than phelps, or *** better than LeBron, or do gymnastics, or box better than Ali, or play football better than the best, or even win a decathlon like Bruce Jenner? NO!!! There are other sports that require more ability than sprinting and other athletes just as dominating in there prime like Jordon or Tiger or Ronaldo (9).

I agree. I've run track and have followed track and field since I was a kid and up until the 2008 Beijing games, the only Jamaican sprinter to make any noise was the great Merleen Ottey aka "The Bronze Queen" (she always came in 3rd). They don't have track totally. The US track team is a little 'thin" right now but we will get back on track in due time.

His comment is for business gain only.. Someone will come along and break his records. He's a great athlete but not even close to the top 50 greatest ever.

The US vs Jamaica comments should stop period. He should not be bragging even though he is the best sprinter right now and we should not be bragging on US domination of track and field for the simple fact that compared to the Caribbean the United States has at least 3 things the Caribbean does not have

1) A bigger population pool from which to get potential athletes

2) A tradition and system to find and groom potential athletes from high school and before

3) More resources period in the form of facilities, equipment and sporting professionals etc.

Yet every Olympics sprinters come out of the West Indies.

And just as a side note, Usain Bolt is not the only sprinter from the West indies to win gold in the 100 meters.

Kill the Buddha research before you speak. Why he is considered the greatest is because he has won both 200m and 100m in beijing and London, he also holds all records in those events and have for the last four or more years.

Sprinting at that level does require technique and specialized training so I have to disagree with you on it not being a sport.

Where I disagree with Bolt is the best athlete ever assertion because of a sport like boxing for example where you not only need strength, technique and extreme fitness, you are also applying this while controlling your emotions because another dude is trying to beat you down.

But I kinda see the way he might be looking at it. Very few people on planet will ever be able to accomplish what he did in just one race, setting the world record I mean.
